No reflection of our demands in budget: REHAB

The Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) has expressed displeasure at the proposed budgetfor the coming fiscal year, saying the government has not taken theirproposals into consideration.

“Our 13 proposals have not been considered in the budget. There is no reflection in the announced budget of our demands to protect the housing sector,” the REHAB said in an statement on Thursday.

The instatement jointly sent by REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin (Kajal) and Vice President Engr Sardar Md Amin said the sector which is the income source of some 2 crore people, directly and indirectly, might collapse following the proposed changes in the income tax structure in the sector.

The REHAB thinks that the crisis in the housing sector will put 269 linkage industries into deeper crisis.

They urged the government to consider their 13-point demand before passing the proposed budget in parliament.
