Electricity comes, internet goes

Electricity is coming from India, internet bandwidth is going from Bangladesh. The prime ministers of two countries will inaugurate the electricity and internet import-export process through a video conference on 23rd March.

According to information given by ministry of electricity, India will provide 100 megawatt electricity from Tripura. In exchange, Bangladesh will provide extra bandwidth to India that has been bought from international submarine cable.

According to sources, Bangladesh has a bandwidth of 200 gbps whereas the country needs 140 gbps. 10 gbps from the extra bandwidth will be exported to India. But this may extend upto 50 gbps, on India’s demand.

The submarine cable traverses through Cox’s bazaar-B. baria to Agartola, India. 7 provinces of eastern part of India will enjoy this bandwidth of Bangladesh.
