AL commits vote dacoity in old ways: GM Quader

Jatiya Party chairman GM Quader has alleged that the ruling Awami League had committed vote rigging in an old way.

"Though the ruling party assured repeatedly that no such incident would not happen this time, they are not following their pledge," he said.

He was talking to newsmen in Rangpur early Sunday afternoon. Earlier, he visited Shishu Mongol Govt Primary School centre in the city.

GM Quader said he had learnt about three incidents of vote rigging. "A vibe was created in different places so that voting would not be normal in those places. However, we have not yet received information from all the places. We heard that our agents were ousted from the polling centres in different places including Jamalpur-Cumilla."

The JaPa chairman said: "We hoped that the voting would be normal. Except Rangpur, voting is not taking place normally in most of the places. We had the apprehension that we would be slaughtered after inviting at the election. It might be known in future. We feared that they would introduce a pure one-party ruling system in the country. It would be known gradually whether it is going to happen in the country or not."
