Tigers to face Kiwis in 2nd T20I Friday

Tigers to face Kiwis in 2nd T20I FridayBangladesh will face New Zealand in the 2nd T20I of their three-match series at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Friday.

The match will begin at 8 am (Bangladesh time).

Bangladesh will go for the maiden T20I win against the host Kiwis as the Tigers are yet to taste any T20I victory against Black Caps.

The visitors started their T20I series campaign with a six-wicket defeat in the 1st match on January 3.

“If we can correct the small mistakes what we made in the previous matches, we’ve a good chance to win the match…but it's always a tough challenge to play in the overseas grounds instead of home ones,” said Bangladesh’s key batsman Mahmudullah who scored team highest 52 runs for the side in the 1st T20I.

Bangladesh might be tempted to pick left-arm spinner Taijul Islam or off-spinner Shuvagata Hom while right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed could be picked up in the best XI replacing Mustafizur Rahman or Rubel Hossain.

On the other hand, there are also some changes in the New Zealand team as George Worker has been called up in the squad to replace injured Neil Broom who suffered finger fracture during the 1st T20I at Napier on January 3.

The host team could bring back left-arm pacer Trent Boult to the camp to boost up their bowling attack while Ish Sodhi may also be included in the XI due to the slow nature of the Bay Oval pitch.

Bangladesh best XI (probable): Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Sabbir Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad, Soumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (captain), Rubel Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman.

New Zealand best XI (probable): Kane Williamson (captain), George Worker, Colin Munro, Corey Anderson, Tom Bruce, Luke Ronchi, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Ben Wheeler/Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry/Trent Boult.
