Arafat Sunny lands in jail in women repression case

A Dhaka court on Sunday rejected bail for national cricket team player Arafat Sunny and ordered to send him jail in a case filed in women repression act against him.

The court also dismissed a 7-day remand plea for interrogating him. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sorafuzzaman Ansari passed the order.

On Sunday, probe officer of the case produced Sunny before the court and appealed for 7-day remand for him.

The court has fixed March 2 for submitting probe report in the case filed against him in women repression case.

Hearing on bail plea in another case filed against him in ICT Act would be held on February 15

Nasrin Sultana alleged Sunny with torturing her for dowry and filed another case in Women and Children Repression Prevention Act accusing Sunny and his mother Nargis Akter.

Polices from Mohammadpur Police Station arrested Sunny from Aminbazar area in the capital on January 22.
