Planes goes missing in Nepal with passenger on board

 

A small plane of Tara Air went missing in the mountain region of Nepal with 21 people on board.

The plane was scheduled to land in the town of Jomsom, said Tara Air spokesman Bhim Rai. It took off Wednesday morning from the city of Pokhara. 

Contact with the plane was lost just after 8 minutes of take-off. The flight duration was supposed to be 19 minutes.The plane was carrying a total of 18 passensgers and 3 crew members. Two of the passengers were foreigners -- one Chinese and one Kuwaiti.

The airline spokesperson said, the weather on Wednesday morning was clear when the plane took off. He also added, the aereoplane was a Twin-Otter which was newly bought from Canada last September.

An army helicopter and two private helicopters have been deployed in the search for the missing plane.
