Prof. Dr. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed (Mesbah Kamal) has joined as Vice-Chancellor (Acting) in Primeasia University.
Eminent historian and researcher, educationist, media personality Prof. Dr. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed (Mesbah Kamal) has joined on the afternoon of May 31, 2021, as the Vice-Chancellor (Acting) of Primeasia University. Prior to joining Primeasia University, he was the Professor of the Department of History at the University of Dhaka. He also worked at the BBC World Service and Voice of America. Prof. Dr. Mesbah Kamal has more than 40 years of experience in the fields of teaching, administration, government, and different industries both in Bangladesh and abroad. He has 23 publications and more than 27 of his articles have been published at the National Daily Newspapers.
He is the Chairperson of Research and Development Collective (RDC), General Secretary of Bangladesh Adivasi Odhikar Andolon, Spokesperson of National Coalition for Indigenous peoples, and Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Dalit Forum. He has several research articles and books on Dalit rights, women’s rights, and indigenous people’s rights.
Prof. Dr. Mesbah Kamal is the Life Member of Bangla Academy, Bangladesh Asiatic Society,Paschimbanga Itihas Sangsad, India, Association for Historical Studies, India and North-East India History Association. In 2016, he was awarded Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen Gold Medal for Research in People’s History, India. He was the Member of the Editorial Board of The Inclusive (International Journal from India) and Former Editor and Publisher of the Samaj Chetona (International Journal from the UK and Bangladesh). He is also a member of different renowned National and International organizations.
Professor Dr. Mesbah Kamal has been contributing to the field of Academia, History, Governance, Politics, Human Rights, Labour Rights, Micro Finance, Rural Development, and Environment throughout his colorific career.
