A Bangladeshi young female model has reportedly committed suicide at her rented flat in Rupnagar area of Dhaka on Tuesday morning.

In her Facebook post, the model wrote that she commits suicide for her anguish over love affair.

Police recovered the body of Sabira Hossain, 21, from her rented apartment, OC of Rupnagar Police Station Syed Shahid Alam said to media.

Sabira Hossain, 21, daughter of Monir Hossain, was residing at a flat of a six-storey building at Road-12 of Rupnagar Residential Area. Hailing from Narayanganj, she used to work as a sales executive of Gaan Bangla Music Channel.

Before committing suicide after hanging from the ceiling fan of her bedroom, she posted a Facebook status blaming her boyfriend Nirjhar Sinha Rounaq for her death.

Police detained Sabira’s boyfriend Nirjhar Sinha Rounaq in this connection.

Nirjhar confessed that he had love affair with Sabira and she has been putting pressure on him to marry her, the OC added.

Police suspect that she might have committed suicide over growing frustration in her love affair.

Sabira has been living in a sublet room of a flat located on Road No 12 in the area.

On information, police recovered the body around 7:00am and sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.

Before committing suicide, Sabira also had posted a video on her Facebook profile saying that Nirjhar was to blame for her death.
