Nayak Raj Razzak to be buried tomorrow
The legendary Dhallywood actor Nayak Raj Razzak who breathed his last at a Dhaka hospital around 6:13pm yesterday, will be buried on Wednesday (tomorrow).
His younger son Samrat said: "My father will be laid to rest around 10 am tomorrow after my elder brother Bappi reaches home from Canada. His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Gulshan's Azad Mosque after the Asar prayer today."
Earlier in the day, another veteran actor Alamgir, said: “His namaz-e-janaza which was scheduled to be held today, has been postponed as his son Bappi will come home from Canada on Wednesday.”
He also said: “The body of the legendary actor will be buried at Gulshan graveyard after performing the namaz-e-janaza tomorrow.”
Referred to as Nayak Raj Razzak, the veteran Dhallywood actor breathed his last at a Dhaka hospital on Monday. He was 75.
His death has triggered an outpouring of grief throughout the country.
He left behind his wife Rajlokhhi, three sons--Bapparaj, Bappi, and Samrat, daughter Moina, and a host of relatives, well-wishers, and admirers.
He made more than 300 appearances in Bengali and Urdu movies. He also directed around sixteen movies.
Razzak was a UNFPA goodwill ambassador and was given the Independence Day Award in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh.
