Purnima seeks help for cold-stricken people

National Film Award winning actress Dilara Hanif Purnima has involved herself in a unique awareness campaign called ‘Chhorai Bhalobashar Ushnota’ launched by PRAN UP, a soft drink from the PRAN RFL Group.

During the campaign from January 24 to 30, people will be asked to collect and deposit used bottles of PRAN UP in the winter booth located in 20 branches across the country. One can also deposit the bottles in pickup vans kept on different roads. An amount of money will be given against the bottles, which will be used to buy blankets for cold-stricken people during the winter season.

DhakaLive has news that Bappa Mahmud is making the promotional video of the campaign featuring Purnima as a model for the online platform. Meanwhile, the two-day shooting for the promotion concluded yesterday.

“As a responsible citizen of the country, I always participate in social awareness campaigns. I also try to help out people in my capacity as an actress,” said Purnima.

“‘Chhorai Bhalobashar Ushnota’ is such an event for me. I really want people to come to aid of the people who have been suffering and keep a clean environment along the way,” she added.

Apparently, the awareness project will be serving two purposes. First, it will motivate people to stand beside the cold-stricken people. Second, this initiative will help people realise that placing plastic bottles in proper places will reduce pollution.

Tanmoy Das, brand manager of the PRAN RFL Group, said, “We can easily distribute blankets, but we wanted to raise awareness among all. So, we have made Purnima the face of the initiative due to her wide acceptance across all social classes.”

From the first week of February, blankets are scheduled to be distributed in Dinajpur, Rangpur, Kurigram, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh, he added.
