Brown Rice Pulao Recipe

Ingredients Brown Rice - 1 cup, soaked for 15 to 20 minutes Onion - 2 small or 1 medium, sliced Carrot - 1, chopped Beans - 5 to 6, chopped Capsicum - 1, small, chopped Broccoli - 1/2 cup, chopped Green Peas - 1/4 cup, shelled Green Chillies - 2, slit Cinnamon - 1/4 inch piece Green Cardamoms - 2 Cloves - 2 Coriander Leaves - handful, chopped Cumin Seeds - 1/4 tsp Garlic - 1/2 tsp, minced Salt as per taste Oil as required
Method
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
- Add the cinnamon, cumin seeds, cardamoms and cloves.
- Saute well for 45 seconds.
- Add the onions and garlic.
- Stir-fry until onions turn brown.
- Now add the rice, vegetables, green chillies and salt.
- Mix well.
- Pour 3 to 4 cups of water.
- Simmer over low flame until most of the water has evaporated and rice is cooked and vegetables are tender.
- Remove and transfer to a serving bowl.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot.
