LGRD Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Tuesday said Faridpur will be declared as a new division within a month or two.

The minister came up with this disclosure while addressing at the installation ceremony of the newly formed Faridpur Journalists Foundation (FJF) at the Jatiya Press Club. The headquarters of the proposed division will be in Faridpur district and steps have been taken to increase its area to double, he said. FJF president Isharaf Hossain Isa was presided over the programme.

 Among others, the function was addressed by former senior secretary and Rupali Bank chairman Monjur Hossain, former FBCCI president Mir Nasir Hossain, DMP Commissioner M Asaduzzaman Mia and industrialist Abdus Sobhan. The LGRD minister also pledged that a world class public university will be established in Faridpur and an international stadium will be built there.
