Elder brother beaten dead by younger brother in Khulna

A man was beaten to death allegedly by his younger brother over a land-related dispute at Sonadanga in Khulna city on Thursday. Quoting police sources news agency UNB said Kamrul Islam Kallol, 40, and his younger brother Firoz Arefin-both sons of late Lutfur Rahman, had been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land. As a sequel to the enmity, Firoz, a sports teacher of Khulna College, beat Kallol mercilessly around 8 am, leaving him critically injured. Later he was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 12:30 pm. Police arrested Firoz in connection with the incident, said Sukumar Biswas, officer-in-charge of Sonadanga Model Police Station, UNB reports.
