DIG’s wife ‘falls off’ city building, dies

The wife of a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police was reportedly killed after falling from the rooftop of a building in the city’s Bhatara Thana area on Sunday.
The deceased is Jesmin Ahmed Mallick, 45, wife of DIG (Highway) Fakhrul Islam Mallick.
Police and hospital sources said Jesmin slipped off the rooftop of their six-storey residence building near Apollo Hospitals in the afternoon.
She was taken to the Apollo Hospitals around 5:30pm when doctors declared her dead, said a duty manager of the hospital.
