Primary education extended up to class VIII

The government has finalized its decision to extend primary education level up to class VIII from V, to implement National Education Policy. The decision came up today at a meeting of the National Education Policy Implementation and Monitoring Committee at the Secretariat in the capital. From today, all academic activities of class VI, VII and VIII have been handed over to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, this was revealed by Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman after the meeting, reports BSS. Education Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain , Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University(DU) Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Prof Fahima Khatun, among others, were present at the meeting.
