BD govt to be able to stop covert killings iron handedly: India
An Indian diplomat on Friday said Bangladesh government will be able to 'bring back stability' in the country curbing such covert killings with an iron hand.
Rajesh Uike, first secretary (political and information) at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, expressing his optimism about an end of this menace.
"At present, there're attempts to create instability in the country through serial covert killings," UNB quoted him as saying.
The Indian diplomat came up with the optimism while speaking at an opinion-exchange meeting with the Hindu community in Galachipa upazila of the district.
Four people, including a senior police officer's wife and members of the Hindu community have been killed this month in similar attacks by suspected militants.
Referring to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Dhaka visit, Rajesh said the Indian Prime Minister made it clear that India wants to move ahead with Bangladesh.
He said the current government in Bangladesh has achieved enormous successes in various areas, including infrastructure development, education and poverty alleviation. "These achievements will have to be taken forward further," reports UNB.
The Indian diplomat later visited under-construction temples at Golachipa central Kalibari ground.
