The cabinet committee on public purchase on Sunday approved a proposal placed by the Energy Division for procuring 450,000 electric prepaid meters by three joint venture firms.

 

These electric prepaid meters will be procured for three zones– Mymensingh, Comilla and Chittagong.

 

After the meeting, Additional Secretary of Cabinet Division Mostafizur Rahman told the reporters.

 

He also said a Chinese firm named M/S Hexing electrical company will supply 450,000 prepaid meters with a cost of Tk220.17 crore.

 

The Chinese company will also provide design, installation testing and commission prepaid meters in three zones, he added.
