The government has announced a nine-day Eid-ul-Fitr vacation this year. The vacation extended as working day of July 4 has been announced as a public holiday.

However, government employees will have to make up for the day of July 4 on July 16.

The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the order under her executive powers, a public administration ministry official said today.

The Eid-ul-Fitr will be held on either July 6 or 7 depending on sighting of the moon.

With July 4 (Monday) as a public holiday now after the Shab-e-Qadr holiday the previous day, offices will be remained shut from July 1 to 9.
