Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Saturday said India will continue to stand by Bangladesh as it had done in the past.

“It’s very, very unfortunate…we’re very sorry and saddened,” the High Commissioner who flew back Dhaka from Delhi told reporters in the city.

He said the Indian high-ups and people of India expressed solidarity with the brothers and sisters in Bangladesh.

“Important thing is everybody has to work together to meet challenges and menace of terrorism,” said the High Commissioner.

He mentioned that whatever assistance they can give Bangladesh in its fight against terrorism is for the common fight. “Your fight is our fight.”

“Our condolences are with the victims and with the people who died, brave policemen. I think it is an incident which has never happened before,” Shringla said, reports unb.
