Journalist Shimul murder: AL activist Nasir among 4 arrested

Police in separate drive in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district, arrested AKM Nasir, among four in connection with the murder of journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul on Friday night.

Of the arrestees, Nasir is an Awami League activist and son of Lafa Mia of the upazila.

Additional police super of Shahajadpur police station Abul Hasnat confirmed the matter.

On Friday, Abdul Hakim Shimul, Shahjadpur Upazila correspondent of vernacular daily the Dainik Samakal, who suffered bullet wounds during a clash between two associate bodies of Awami League in Shahjadpur on Thursday, succumbed to his injuries around 1 pm while being taken to Dhaka from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogra for better treatment.
