Plot graft: Former RAJUK Chairman, PARTEX director arrested

The ACC has arrested former secretary and RAJUK Chairman Iqbal Uddin Chowdhury and Partex Director Showkat Aziz Russell over a graft case involving residential land allotment in Purbachal.

Iqbal Uddin, a former secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, was arrested from Dhaka’s Paribagh on Thursday.

Showkat Aziz, who is also the son of Partex Chairman MA Hashem, was arrested in Gulshan.

Iqbal Uddin served as the chairman of RAJUK between 2001 and 2004, ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told bdnews24.com. Iqbal Uddin and Showkat Aziz were arrested over a case filed by the ACC at Dhaka’s Motijheel Police Station.
