BGB to observe Peelkhana Martyrs' Day on SaturdayBorder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will observe the Peelkhana Martyrs' Day on Saturday with due solemnity.

Mutinous soldiers of the then Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) on February 25-26, 2009 went berserk and killed many officers.

Marking the day, wreaths will be placed at the Banani graveyard on behalf of the president and the prime minister.

The home minister and chiefs of the three services will also pay their respects to the martyrs along with the director general of BGB.

Prayers will be held in different mosques of BGB for eternal peace of the departed souls of martyrs' officers.

On Sunday, a milad mahfil will be held at the Bir Uttam Fazlur Rahman Khandaker auditorium. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will be the chief guest.
