Group of protesting students' human chain in Norda

Although a faction of protesting students called of their safer road movement till March 28 following the DNCC Mayor's assurance, another group

formed a human chain in Norda's Progati Sarani in the capital where varsity student Abrar was run over by bus on Tuesday.

The demonstrators have demanded safer roads and capital punishment to the bus driver responsible for the death of Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury.

Students of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) gathered in front of Bashundhara gate at about 11am.

Later, they formed the human chain with national flag in front of Jamuna Future Park around 11:30am following request by police.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Badda Zone) ADC Ahmed Humayun said the students formed a peaceful human chain thus did not harm vehicular movement.
