COVID-19: Bangladesh reports 46 more deaths

Bangladesh on Saturday reported 2,265 coronavirus cases and 46 deaths in last 24 hours.

The total number of cases now stand at 2,92,625 and deaths 3,907.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Saturday afternoon.

Health authorities also reported 1,315 more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,58,950.

Among the newly deceased presons, 36 were male and 10 female. Of them, 27 in Dhaka, five in Chattogram, eight in Rajshahi, one in Khulna, two in Barisal, two in Sylhet and one in Rangpur divisions.

Of the total 3,907 deaths from coronavirus, 3,082 were men (78.78 per cent) and 825 were women (21.12 per cent).

In the last 24 hours, 91 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 10,595 samples and tested 11,365 samples.

Health authorities also reported 2,952 more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,75,567.

The infection rate is 19.95 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the sample tested.

So far, the infection rate is 20.44 percent, the recovery rate is 60 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.34 per cent.
