DNCC Mayor Atiq, wife Shayla test positive for Covid-19

DNCC Mayor Atiq, wife Shayla test positive for Covid-19

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam and his wife Dr Shayla Shagufta Islam tested positive for COVID-19.

Moreover, the mayor's assistant personal secretary Rishad Morshed also tested positive for the virus.

The public relations office of the City Corporation confirmed the news on Monday.

The mayor and his wife submitted their samples on Sunday after experiencing symptoms of Covid-19. The results came back positive.

The mayor Atiqul and his wife are currently on isolation at their residence in Dhaka and receiving treatment there.

The mayor also urged countrymen to pray for their swift recovery.
