Global coronavirus death toll crosses 2 million mark
Over two million people have lost their lives due to COVID-19 though vaccinations have begun this month in a number of nations.
Besides, 2,019,868 people have died while 94,395,518 others tested positive for the virus worldwide till 4:30 pm (Bangladesh Time) on Saturday (Jan 16).
A total of 67,440,213 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.
A total of 219 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.
In USA, 24,102,429 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 401,856 people have died and 14,228,969 people have recovered.
In Brazil, 8,394,253 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 208,291 patients have died and 7,361,379 recovered.
In India, 10,543,659 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 152,130 people have died and 10,179,715 people have recovered.
In Mexico, 1,609,735 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 139,022 died and 1,199,810 recovered from the disease.
In UK, 3,316,019 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 87,295 patients have died and 1,503,654 people have recovered.
In Italy, 2,352,423 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 81,325 people have died and 1,713,030 people have recovered.
In France, 2,872,941 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 69,949 patients have died and 208,071 patients have recovered.
In Russia, 3,544,623 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 65,085 have died and 2,936,991 have recovered.
In Iran, 1,318,295 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 56,621 patients have died and 1,107,011 patients have recovered.
In Spain, 2,252,164 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 53,314 have died in the country.

In Germany, 2,023,802 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 46,537 patients have died and 1,657,900 have recovered.
In Bangladesh, 527,063 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 7,883 people died and 471,756 patients have recovered.
