Couple killed as bus hits bike on Airport Road

A man and his wife were killed as a bus hit their motorbike on Airport Road in the capital on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Akash Ikbal, 33, and his wife Hazarika, 25, resident of Mollartek area of Dokhinkhan.

Moshiul Alam, sub-inspector of Airport Police Sation, told Banglanews that a bus of Ajmeri Paribahan hit the motorcycle on which they were riding in front of Padma Oil Gate area, leaving both of them dead.

The bus was seized but its driver fled spot immediately after the accident, he said.

The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for autopsies, the SI added.
