Police have arrested a domestic help from Thakurgaon district on charge of severely beating up her elderly employer after stripping her naked in city's  Shahjahanpur area.

A team of Shahjahanpur police arrested the maid--Rekha-- from Kashipur in between Ranishankail and Baliadangai upazila early Thursday.

Rekha, who looted over Tk 1,50 lakh, gold ornaments and a mobile phone set, first took shelter in Dhaka's Demra area. As the news came in media, she then fled to her maternal uncle's house in Thakurgaon.

Meanwhile, stolen Tk 60,000, gold ornaments and the mobile police have recovered from Rekah's possession. However,  she has already spent Tk over 1 lakh.

Shahjahanpur police said the accused will be  produced before the court today (Thursday) after bringing to Dhaka.

A CCTV footage shows that the maid was serving the elderly employer, who had been suffering from kidney and various ailments from last three years, at her room.

Later, the cruel maid forcibly took the woman at the washroom, stripped her naked and poured cold water on her.

Failing to keep her in the bathroom, she then severely beat up the woman with a stick, leaving her critically injured.

The maid also snatched away her gold chain, bangles and sat on her chest to get the almira's key. Failing to open it, she then dragged the blood-stained employer to the almirah to open.

After taking away all the valuables, Rekha locked the room, took the television and fled the scene leaving behind the injured old employer in the empty house.
