PM issues directives to increase range of vaccination program
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has issued directives to the concerned authorities to increase range of vaccination programme.
She said, “Health Minister and Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) have been instructed over vaccine registration.”
The premier made said this while presiding over a regular cabinet meeting on Monday (February 8). She attended the meeting virtually from her official residence ‘Gonobhabon’ while other ministers from the cabinet conference of the Secretariat.
PM said, “Mask must be used. Wearing mask and washing hands should be continued that means those who received the vaccine also continue these things. It should not be thought that they are safe and no need to wash hands and wear mask. Everybody should be careful.”
She also all to maintain health guidelines after receiving vaccine.
PM also issued directives to introduce a system so that the registered people can bring their families to the vaccination center.
The cabinet secretary later told a briefing at the Secretariat about the meeting, adding that the issue of vaccines had been discussed at the cabinet meeting. Prime Minister has instructed that the vaccination programme, which started on Sunday (February 7), should be relaxed a little bit.
He said registration can be done up to 40 years. On Sunday, who were less than 55 years old they were allowed to take vaccine. That is why it has been said today that vaccination can be given up to 40 years. It will be effective from today.
