DNCC starts drive to remove English billboards

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has started a drive to remove English billboards from the streets.

To enforce a High Court ruling, the authority conducted the drive on Thursday (February 18).

Ten buildings and an organization in Kamal Ataturk Avenue were finned Tk55,000. The mobile court finned them for not putting the Bangla language in the signboards.

A flower shop was also finned for occupying footpath illegally there.

Earlier, the High Court asked the government to take measures to implement its directive on using Bangla in all advertisements, nameplates, and signboards.
