BFIU seeks Dr Yunus's bank information

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sent letters to banks across the country seeking Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus's bank related all information.

The organisation asked the banks to submit the records by Tuesday.

The letters were sent on January 20 (Thursday).

Bangladesh Bank sought the information, the BFIU sources said.

Dr Yunus and his family submitted all bank related information to Bangladesh Bank in 2016.

Yunus and three other officials of Grameen Telecom secured bail on October 12 in a case filed against them for allegedly violating labour laws.
