State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Tuesday said the government is working to ensure a completely digital paperless office and build cashless society by 2041.

"Our target is to ensure entirely digital paperless office and build cashless society by 2041. It will help ensure transparency and accountability," he said while speaking at a workshop as the chief guest in the city, reports BSS.

European Union organized the workshop titled 'Supporting Transparent e-Governance Policy in Bangladesh' at city hotel here, said a press release.

Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh Charles Whiteley delivered welcome address in the function.

Noting that the government services are being reached to the doorsteps of the people at a low-cost, within short-time and in a corruption-free manner using the modern technologies and the internet, Palak said, "Apart from using technology to build a smart government system, the government wants to ensure the accountability of government officials and employees and make them sympathetic".

A smart leadership academy will be set up for inclusive development under the initiative of the ICT Division, he added.

Bangladesh's preparations for digital ecosystem were presented in the workshop.
