Although the reaction of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has not made public, some senior leaders of the party hinted that their party might reject the new Election Commission announced on Monday night.

However, BNP will give formal reaction over the newly constituted Election Commission on Tuesday night.

BNP chairperson's press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan told daily sun on Monday night that the party would give reaction over newly formed EC on Tuesday night after meeting with leaders of the BNP-led alliance.

Meanwhile, BNP standing committee sat at a meeting on Monday night and discussed various issues, including the newly formed Election Commission and poll-time administration for the next parliament election.

The meeting presided over by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office around 9:30pm that lasted for around two hours.

A leader of BNP who was present at the meeting said the party may reject the new election commission branding the new chief election commissioner and election commissioners as the men of ruling Awami League.
