Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader has said strong diplomatic efforts continue to bring back the killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who fled to different countries.

He said this after joining a discussion through video conference held at the capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue on Tuesday, marking the National Mourning Day.

The Road Transport and Bridges Minister said, ‘The trial of August 15 assassination took place and the stigma of the nation has been removed as Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is still alive.’

He said, ‘Those self-confessed murderers did not get protection from people despite having hundreds of shelters. The killers were hanged by the court verdict. The murderers today deserve the contempt and hatred of people.’

‘Those are hiding will also be brought back and the death sentence will be executed, Inshallah. Diplomatic efforts have already been intensified in this regard,’ he added.
