Sussex County desperate for Mustafizur

England’s renowned cricket club Sussex County desperately wants Bangladesh bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman to play in the NatWest T20 Blast, and also in the Royal London One-Day Cup that will start in the late August.

Being motivated with the magical performance in IPL, the think tank of the club expressed their utmost desire to have a contract with Mustafizur, according to several media reports.

Mentioning the ‘Fizz’ the best bowler right now, Sussex coach Mark Davis recently said they are not yet sure if Mustafizur will join or not but they are hopeful and excited to have him.

“Mustafizur is probably the best bowler in the world at the moment so we’re very excited about him coming and we should know for sure what’s going on in the next couple of weeks,” said Mark Davis in a report of The Argus.

The report also mentioned that Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is still in doubt about Mustafizur’s participation in the county as they do not want to put their biggest discovery under too much strain. Moreover, Mustafiz also suffered a side muscle injury in the Asia Cup which is also a concern for the BCB.

However, some BCB sources said that they will decide about the matter after the Fizz returns from IPL. They also said it will mostly depend on Mustafiz himself whether he will play in UK or not.

The report also claimed that Rahman is thinking pulling out of the deal but it was not confirmed.

Fizz, currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, will miss the Sussex’s opening game in the NatWest T20 Blast on May 20 as Sunrisers’ final match scheduled for May 22.

Eventually he could miss some other games as his team SRH is at the top of the table and most likely to make the semi-final of IPL.

Apart from county cricket, some clubs from Australia had also shown interest to feature Mustafiz in Big Bash league.

Mustafizur will be the second Bangladeshi after Shakib Al Hasan if he makes his marks in either county cricket or in Australia.

Now, this is the time for Mustafizur as well as BCB to decide whether it would be good for his career to venture out too many leagues in the very beginning of his advent in the cricket.
