Siddikur runners-up in Bashundhara Bangladesh Open
Siddikur runners-up in Bashundhara Bangladesh OpenGolfer Siddikur Rahman has finished runners-up in the Bashundhara Bangladesh Open, after he creditably clawed back from 29th place at the first round.
Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond has defended his title after the final round on Saturday at the Kurmitola Golf Club.
Siddukur played five shots below par on Friday in the last round at the Kurmitola Golf Club to finish behind champion Janetwattananond , who played 13 shots below par to stay on top throughout the tournament.
Siddikur has won two Asian titles.
Bangladesh golfer Dulal Hossain finished at 15th with five shots below par and Jamal Hossain finished 26th with an at-par performance.
The 72-hole four-day tournament is an Asian Tour Professional Tournament and attracted 135 professional golfers from 35 countries.
Host Bangladesh fielded 25 professional and five amateur golfers other than Siddik who was chasing his third Asian Tour title.
Siddik, who just returned home on Monday night after taking part in Singapore Open and Myanmar Open, told media at in the official press conference at Kurmitola that this time he is in good shape.
“I could not get my expected result last time because I was down with an injury. This time I hope to do well," he had said.
