Former national cricket team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and incumbent captain Shakib Al Hasan have become members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry of the 12th National Parliament.

In addition, Zahid Ahsan Russel, former state minister for the ministry, has been made chairman of the committee.

The other members of the committee are: incumbent State Minister Nazmul Hasan Papon, Shafiqul Islam, Mainul Hossain Khan, Abdus Salam Murshedi, Solaiman Selim and Mohiuddin Moharaj.

Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, with the permission of Parliament Leader Sheikh Hasina, proposed the names of the committee and the members on Monday in accordance with the Rules of Procedure in the parliament session.
