Eid is offing to the doorstep of Muslims of Bangladesh. Lassa Shemai producer also busy to produce thousand mounds of shemai to sell in the up-coming eid market. But question is how the shemai is producing?

 Sonatola Upozila of Bagura district is renowned for more than 20-25 Shemai production factory. But they producing the shemai in insalubrious and crowded place creating health risk to the people. And these seasonal factories are running without any approval of BSTI. Worker are seen to make yeast of Shemai through trampling in these factories.

 In the other side, in Upazila town, a factory are producing Shemai in a unhygienic poultry farm which located very adjacent to the Bagura stadium.

Local people alleged, Toufiqul Islam is producing shemai in a poultry shed for last one week. More that 7-8 people are working in this factory from morning ot night. Of them, 4-5 people are making yeast dough through trampling.

Acknowledging the allegation, the owner of the factory Toufiqul Islam said, the shed has made for poultry farm but to make some brisk business in this Eid I establish a lassa shemai factory here. Around 10-12 mounds of lassa being produced each day where eight workers have to work throughout the day. As it is temporary and seasonal factory so it is difficult to made dough through machine.

 He said, all most all of the factory situated in this area are running in the same way and make yeast with trample. None of those factory has any machine.

Local people alleged, Madrasha road of Upazila town, Balua bazar, Syed Ahmed College Stationh, Harikhali Bazar and all other factories in this area are running in the same way.

Sanitary officer of Senatola Upazila health complex Md. Lutful Haque said, he has no information about the allegation that shemai being produced through trampling.

Field officer of BSTI Rajshahi office Debobrato Biswas said, the drive against the unhealthy lassa shemi production factory is continuing.

Debobrota Biswas also said, in last Thirst day, mobile court conductd a drive against Nayem-Rimon Shemai factory in Shekhaher shemai polli in Kahalu Upozilla.
